Plan for the inlet
Tsleil-waututh Nation – People of the Inlet – has unveiled a science-based action plan to restore the contaminated Burrard Inlet. The draft plan, released in February, has the nation’s leadership saying that identifying issues that must be resolved will result in real action to clean up the area of North Vancouver shoreline.
The document is based on various interviews with experts including researchers and resource managers.
The report is available on the nation’s website, and goes into detail about how the inlet could be made more environmentally-sound. It will be discussed in further detail at the Burrard Inlet Science Symposium on May 19 at the Stanley Park pavilion in Vancouver.
